Gringo Chileno

I got to go back to Cajon del Maipo and visit Embalse El Yeso. It was astounding. Hard to believe this is just 2 hours from Santiago. Also got to check out Termas de Colina, some natural hot springs.

The esposa and I decided to make the quick 2.5 hour drive up to Portillo, a ski resort near the border of Argentina. It sits on Laguna del Inca, and is probably more incredible in the summer. Just look at the color of this water.

Chile has a long coast. This is known. So I suppose there are many excellent beach towns to visit. I plan to find out. First stop, Matanzas. It’s about 2.5 hours from Santiago. The “downtown” area is more of a village. But it’s got a few excellent restaurants and coffee shops. The cliffs are mesmerizing.…
